Registration for workshops during 19th "Cracovia Danza" Court Dance Festival is opened (July 22nd-29th)
Relevant to the festival’s theme, our workshop offer has been updated to incorporate new courses, including those on dances of both war and peace. The most notable examples are historical fencing classes, taught by Mateusz Jabczanik, and a course on Indian martial dance Chhau, mentored by a New Dehli-based master of this style, Rajesh Sai Babu. Another new class in this year’s programme will focus on French contredanses. This style, as well as Baroque dance, will be taught by Pierre-Francois Dolle, dancer, choreographer and founder of Fantaisies Baroques Ensemble.
Furthermore, the offer features courses by many illustrious dancing masters: Barbara Segal (English dance, Baroque dance), Marie-Claire Bär Le Corre (French dance), Ana Yepes (Spanish dance), Gloria Giordano (Italian dance), Alaknanda Bose (Indian Kathak dance) and Leszek Rembowski (Polish dance). It also includes acting workshops: pantomime (with Krzysztof Antkowiak) and commedia dell’arte (with Agnieszka Cianciara-Fröhlich).
As one can see, Kraków will be hosting numerous dance celebrities from all over the world. The ‘Cracovia Danza’ Festival is an exceptional opportunity to meet the dancing masters all in one place and benefit from their knowledge and experience for a full week. The classes will take place in central Kraków, in the vicinity of the Planty Park, in the 19th-century building of ‘Nowodworek’ (Bartłomiej Nowodworski High School).
