Chess inspired by J. Kochanowski's poem

With no equal in its masterful depiction of this regal game, the poem Chess by Jan Kochanowski is presented to the audience through dance, pantomime and the spoken word. The ingenious and humorous text reveals the genuine feelings and emotions of the characters, while the vivid and dynamic plot provides ideal material for a performance based on Renaissance dance and pantomime movement. Scenes drawn from a game of chess, illustrated with the pantomime movement of characters wearing fantastic masks, introduce the audience into the intriguing world of chess tournaments.
