Participants will dance on a very interesting old song about the âfable of the ant and the grasshopperâ (Fable de la sauterelle et la fourmi) with gaillarde and branle gay. They will also work on the pavane, some branles coupĂ©s (Margot, branle dâEcosse, branle de lâAridan), branles morguĂ©s (branle des Pois and branle des Hermites) and approach the branle de lâOfficial â almost all after the OrchĂ©sographie by Thoinot Arbeau, Langres 1588.
Participants will create the Ballet of the nymphs of the frogâs pond (Ballet des nymphes de la grenouillĂšre), anonymous 1625, which will be composed of allemande and courante, based on steps from the OrchĂ©sographie by Thoinot Arbeau, Langres 1588, and on elements from the anonymous tract Instruction pour dancer, ca. 1612. In a second part they will work the Volte en alternance avec la courante from the OrchĂ©sographie. Marie-Claire will teach also some branles de la reine, published by Michael Praetorius in his collection Terpsichore, WolfenbĂŒttel 1612.
