"Carnival of Harlequins" | Cracovia Danza Ballet with Pierre-François Dollé

The play "Carnival of Harlequins" is dedicated to the character of Harlequin, one of the most famous masks of Commedia dell Arte. Drowing the rich personality of titular protagonist, Agnieszka Cianciara-Fröhlich and Romana Agnel (authors) tell a story by using variuos expressions plunged in Commedia dell'Arte tradition. The significant connection between dance and Italian Commedia dell' Arte allows showing the Harlequin's figure in theatre's space.

The performance presents numerous faces of Harlequin (Galant, Sailor, Exotic). The Harlequin's fame is outgrowing himself. He becomes the theatre's icon fastly. His patterned costume has settled in the common culture for good. By the performance, the great influence of Commedia dell' Arte on ballets world is confirmed. In addition to period choreography, the performance future original dance compositions.

The performance will take place on Friday 11th of March at 8 PM on the stage of the City Council of Sarreguemines in France. The day before two shows will be held for local school students.
