Fin de Siécle IN A CRACOW SALON

The performance presents a carnival ball repertoire in Krakow at the threshold of the 20th century. This was a period when parties and entertainments in Krakow houses and palaces enjoyed great popularity, spreading the fashion for carnival cotillions and masked salon dances. In this performance the Cracovia Danza Court Ballet depicts a traditional Krakow ball led by a dance leader, the wodzirej. The invited guests – dancers wearing ball attire of the period – dance the fashionable Waltzes, Les Lanciers, Quadrilles, Polkas, Cotillions and Mazurs.   Fot.: Ilja van de Pavert
