THE JUDGMENT OF PARIS BASED ON A PLAY BY J. LOCHER
A dance and pantomime performance referring to Judicium Paridis (an ancient story drawn from Homer’s Iliad), presented for the first time at the Wawel Royal Castle in 1522. The staging concept of the performances is based on the universal form of theatre within theatre. The performance transports the viewer into Queen Bona's court, and more precisely to the royal ball. This is when, together with the Wawel court, the viewer becomes part of the audience watching The Judgement of Paris.
Dance intermedia interweave with fragments of pantomime (performed by artists of the Henryk Tomaszewski Wrocław Theatre of Pantomime) which present the text's storyline, analogous to the original.
