Tematem tegorocznych warsztatów jest ewolucja tańca kathak, przypadająca na trzy okresy: Epokę Świątynną, Epokę Dynastii Mogołów i czasy teatru współczesnego.

Podczas moich zajęć będę nauczać formy thumri z Epoki Świątynnej, wykorzystując poemat kavit opisujący miłość Radhy do Krishny. Wspólnie z uczestnikami będziemy analizować kształtowanie się tańca na wczesnym etapie ewolucji.

The theme of this year’s workshops is the evolution of the kathak dance, spanning three periods: the Temple Age, the Moghul Age and the age of modern theatre.

During my classes, I will teach thumri form from the Temple Age, using the poem kavit describing Radha’s love for Krishna. Together with the participants, we will analyse the early stage of the process of dance evolution.
